Bernard has been involved in the Financial Services Industry since February 1982, having started his career as a Representative at Sanlam in Johannesburg. He was quickly promoted to Branch Manager, managing a branch of some 20 representatives. In 1987, Bernard decided that it was time to offer his clients a more independent financial planning option. He joined Bankorp Broker division providing financial advice to Trust Bank clients.
In 1990 he was transferred to Durban where he continued to provide financial advice to the Trust Bank clients. In 1992 he joined Standard Bank Financial Advisory Services, where he provided financial advice to the Standard Bank Durban branch clients. At the end of 1997, he returned to Pretoria, working at the Centurion Branch of Standard Bank. In 2003 he
joined PIB Financial Services, which was later to become Sasfin Financial Advisory Services. He joined GCI Wealth as aWealth Manager in March 2017.
Bernard is a CFP Professional and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning. Bernard enjoys interacting with his clients, some of which have remained loyal to him since 1982. His top priority is to provide holistic financial planning to his clients, understand their financial situations and assist them in reaching a safe and secure retirement.
Bernard is married to Anna-Marie. He has 2 sons and 1 daughter.
Bernard loves reading, gardening and is actively involved in Road running and race walking. He has obtained his Green number in the Comrades Marathon, having completed the gruelling race 12 times.
