I have attained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, and thereafter attended Practical Legal School via the Law Society of South Africa (KZN). I was admitted as an attorney on 7 January 2014. I have also completed the Conveyancing Course. During 2016, I completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

I experienced and learnt valuable attributes during my career in litigation. Having worked within the legal / financial industry, I have developed a wide range of skills such as communication skills (written and verbal), listening skills, negotiation, problem solving, collaboration, analytical thinking, emotional intelligence, business acumen /professionalism and organisational adroitness.

My current role as a Legal Advisor Advanced at Old Mutual Wealth has been a phenomenal opportunity. My function is embedded within the company’s governance structure, and hence I have been exposed to compliance, risk, distribution, marketing, and operational business elements. I report to the Head of Legal and play a critical role within the legal team by providing advice on all regulatory/ legislative and policy components. My passion is creating a business environment that embraces customer-centric values. I am passionate about Treating Customers Fairly and principles entrenched within the Retail Distribution Review Paper. I have actively engaged with the following pieces of legislation: FAIS Act, FICA, CISCA, FSR Act, Insurance Act, LTI Act, Estate Duty Act, NCA, POCA, Income Tax Act, Intestate Succession Act, Wills Act, Marriage Act, Matrimonial property Act and the PFA.

I have established sound knowledge on vast legal technical aspects; kindly refer to my resume for details. I am trained to recognize the importance of self- application; as attaining knowledge in isolation is of no value in the legal fraternity. I have experienced exponential growth at Old Mutual, and I believe I am ready to explore another career path.
